1. Core Ethical Pillars

Our work is built upon four uncompromised principles that reflect the legacy of the individual our trust honors:

Integrity & Righteousness: We conduct all operations with absolute honesty. We do not compromise on truth, regardless of the pressure or the stakes.

Empowerment Without Discrimination: Our programs serve all individuals regardless of caste, creed, religion, gender, or socioeconomic status, prioritizing the youth and the underprivileged.

Transparency & Accountability: Every rupee received and spent is tracked, audited, and made visible to our stakeholders and the public.

Humility in Service: We approach our beneficiaries not as benefactors, but as partners in development, maintaining the highest respect for human dignity.

2. Code of Conduct

A. Professional & Personal Integrity
Honesty in Reporting: Staff and volunteers must accurately report project metrics, beneficiary data, and financial expenditures. Falsifying records for any reason will result in immediate termination.

Anti-Corruption & Bribery: The Trust operates a zero-tolerance policy for bribery. No employee or volunteer shall offer, give, solicit, or accept bribes or unauthorized kickbacks from vendors, government officials, or beneficiaries.

Conflict of Interest: All personnel must disclose relationships or financial interests that could influence (or appear to influence) their official duties. If a conflict arises (e.g., hiring a relative or choosing a vendor owned by a family member), the individual must recuse themselves from the decision-making process.

B. Stewardship of Trust Resources

Financial Discipline: Funds must be used exclusively for their intended charitable purposes. Personal use of Trust assets (vehicles, equipment, funds, or intellectual property) is strictly prohibited.

Resource Optimization: In alignment with Dr. Kalam’s vision of simple living, we commit to minimizing administrative overhead to ensure maximum resources reach our beneficiaries.

C. Dignity and Safety of Beneficiaries

Safeguarding: We maintain a safe environment for all beneficiaries, particularly children, women, and vulnerable adults. Any form of harassment, abuse, or exploitation will face strict legal and disciplinary action.

Data Privacy: The personal information and dignity of our beneficiaries must be protected. Consent must be obtained before using names, photos, or personal stories in promotional or media materials.

3. Workplace Environment

Mutual Respect: We foster a collaborative, inclusive work environment where diverse viewpoints are valued. Discriminating against colleagues based on background is completely barred.

Political Neutrality: While the Trust engages with government bodies to scale its impact, it remains strictly non-partisan and non-political. Trust platforms or resources must not be used to endorse political parties or candidates.

4. Whistleblower & Compliance Mechanism

To ensure these words match our actions, the Trust implements a safe reporting structure:

Reporting Violations: Any employee, volunteer, or beneficiary who witnesses a violation of this policy is encouraged to report it to the Internal Ethics Committee via  Email at info@apjabdulkalmtrust

Protection Against Retaliation: The Trust guarantees absolute confidentiality and protection from retaliation, harassment, or adverse employment consequences for any individual who reports a violation in good faith.

Disciplinary Action: Violations of this policy will be investigated fairly. Proven infractions will lead to disciplinary measures, up to and including immediate termination of employment/association and, where necessary, legal prosecution.

5. Adoption & Commitment

Every trustee, employee, and volunteer is required to read, understand, and sign an acknowledgment of this policy upon joining the Trust, renewing their commitment annually.

I have read, understood, and agree to abide by the Ethics Policy of the Dr. Abdul Kalam Social Welfare Trust.
